Pulp Fiction: My tribute

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." - Ezekiel 25:17

It is not the passage that I liked, but the way Jules delivers the passage everytime he kills somebody.
Hell yeah! welcome to Pulp Fiction, baby!
Had heard a lot about this movie from people, but never got the chance to see it myself. And guess what? I watched it at least 5 times till now, in two months! Quite an achievement, eh?
There were romantic comedies, now gangster movies, my taste for sure, is expanding. :) [Will tell you the story about my other fave gangster movies later.]
Pulp Fiction is a straight forward movie with main characters coming across each other a few times, otherwise having their separate story lines.
The story is told in parts, and I tell you, it is done brilliantly. I especially liked Jules and Vincent's roles as the unassuming, indifferent gangsters. Just sheer brilliance, Samuel L. Jackson as Jules and John Travolta as Vincent Vega.
I like this piece of conversation that happens in Jimmie's house when Jules and Vincent reach there with a dead body in their car.
Jimmie: I'm talkin'. Now let me ask you a question, Jules. When you drove in here, did you notice a sign out front that said, "Dead nigger storage?"
Jules starts to "Jimmie" him
Jimmie: Answer to question. Did you see a sign out in front of my house that said, "Dead nigger storage?"
Jules: Naw man, I didn't.
Jimmie: You know why you didn't see that sign?
Jules: Why?
Jimmie: 'Cause storin' dead niggers ain't my f**kin' business!
Dark humor!
Amongst most of the things I liked about this movie, one is the pre-movie score named "Miserlou"(a Greek song).

Overall I rate this movie 9.99 out of 10. I had to deduct 0.01 for the fear of being partial to this movie. :)
A must watch for those who love, gorge on the classics.
Cast:
John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Ving Rhames, Uma Thurman.

Just a post

Yesterday, I came across this DVD, How to lose friends and alienate people. I would be lying if I say I really wanted to see it's content except for Megan Fox. Ohh! What a beauty she is! Oh my my!
So it starts like any other movie and ends like one, a loser becomes a hero, gets the girl, gets the life he always dreamed of, et all. Yet there are a few things I would like to make a note of. Kristen Dunst looks beautiful(considering I've never found her pretty) and plays her part very well. Jeff Bridges is wonderful playing the boss who is running the business for the sake of running it. And the protagonist Sidney Young, who always gets into problems because of his never-wait-for-tomorrow attitude, is brilliantly played by a Paul Scholes look-a-like Simon Pegg.
It has one or two nice quotes, one of which is, My glory walks hand in hand with my doom! which of course is taken from the epic Troy. Such was my likeness with this quote that I memorized it once I heard it.
I think I've fondness for the romantic comedies, be it One Fine Day, Heartbreak Kid or anything, I sort of like them. They make a great watch even when you are in deep-shit! That's what I like about romantic comedies.
One thing that always strikes my mind while watching these pretty ladies acting, is; beauty is inversely proportional to the degree of acting skills one possesses, which, of course has one exception; Catherine Zeta Jones. :)
When I was small I had this plan to go on a quest to find CZJ and marry her! :)
You think that's weird? Then see this.
Considering what these GenX kids plan to do, my plan was quite sane for the kid of that age! Don't you agree?

Things going on!

Well! All I do these days with my blog is change its theme! Sounds so uncomfortable. But that's the easiest thing to do, as compared to writing a post in these time constraints and recession.
Recession has hit really hard. So hard that it reflects in my blog(rather the lack of it).
All these days, I's pretty pleased with reading all the creative writings by other fellow bloggers. Well, with the so little time I get and a mental block, that doesn't want to be shrugged off, there was no other option.
And yes, IPL is happening, and it's happening big-time, the rise of Fake IPL Player is doing the rounds, more scantily dressed cheer-leaders, and more teams vying for the semi-finals berth. It is all happening. As one of the presenters said about the points table, "The middle of table never looked so good. The middle is where the meat is". I couldn't fathom the second sentence!
So, that's the news from my side.. see you all in few!(God knows whether it is few hrs, day, weeks or months)
