Pulp Fiction: My tribute

"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." - Ezekiel 25:17

It is not the passage that I liked, but the way Jules delivers the passage everytime he kills somebody.
Hell yeah! welcome to Pulp Fiction, baby!
Had heard a lot about this movie from people, but never got the chance to see it myself. And guess what? I watched it at least 5 times till now, in two months! Quite an achievement, eh?
There were romantic comedies, now gangster movies, my taste for sure, is expanding. :) [Will tell you the story about my other fave gangster movies later.]
Pulp Fiction is a straight forward movie with main characters coming across each other a few times, otherwise having their separate story lines.
The story is told in parts, and I tell you, it is done brilliantly. I especially liked Jules and Vincent's roles as the unassuming, indifferent gangsters. Just sheer brilliance, Samuel L. Jackson as Jules and John Travolta as Vincent Vega.
I like this piece of conversation that happens in Jimmie's house when Jules and Vincent reach there with a dead body in their car.
Jimmie: I'm talkin'. Now let me ask you a question, Jules. When you drove in here, did you notice a sign out front that said, "Dead nigger storage?"
Jules starts to "Jimmie" him
Jimmie: Answer to question. Did you see a sign out in front of my house that said, "Dead nigger storage?"
Jules: Naw man, I didn't.
Jimmie: You know why you didn't see that sign?
Jules: Why?
Jimmie: 'Cause storin' dead niggers ain't my f**kin' business!
Dark humor!
Amongst most of the things I liked about this movie, one is the pre-movie score named "Miserlou"(a Greek song).

Overall I rate this movie 9.99 out of 10. I had to deduct 0.01 for the fear of being partial to this movie. :)
A must watch for those who love, gorge on the classics.
Cast:
John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Ving Rhames, Uma Thurman.

Just a post

Yesterday, I came across this DVD, How to lose friends and alienate people. I would be lying if I say I really wanted to see it's content except for Megan Fox. Ohh! What a beauty she is! Oh my my!
So it starts like any other movie and ends like one, a loser becomes a hero, gets the girl, gets the life he always dreamed of, et all. Yet there are a few things I would like to make a note of. Kristen Dunst looks beautiful(considering I've never found her pretty) and plays her part very well. Jeff Bridges is wonderful playing the boss who is running the business for the sake of running it. And the protagonist Sidney Young, who always gets into problems because of his never-wait-for-tomorrow attitude, is brilliantly played by a Paul Scholes look-a-like Simon Pegg.
It has one or two nice quotes, one of which is, My glory walks hand in hand with my doom! which of course is taken from the epic Troy. Such was my likeness with this quote that I memorized it once I heard it.
I think I've fondness for the romantic comedies, be it One Fine Day, Heartbreak Kid or anything, I sort of like them. They make a great watch even when you are in deep-shit! That's what I like about romantic comedies.
One thing that always strikes my mind while watching these pretty ladies acting, is; beauty is inversely proportional to the degree of acting skills one possesses, which, of course has one exception; Catherine Zeta Jones. :)
When I was small I had this plan to go on a quest to find CZJ and marry her! :)
You think that's weird? Then see this.
Considering what these GenX kids plan to do, my plan was quite sane for the kid of that age! Don't you agree?

Things going on!

Well! All I do these days with my blog is change its theme! Sounds so uncomfortable. But that's the easiest thing to do, as compared to writing a post in these time constraints and recession.
Recession has hit really hard. So hard that it reflects in my blog(rather the lack of it).
All these days, I's pretty pleased with reading all the creative writings by other fellow bloggers. Well, with the so little time I get and a mental block, that doesn't want to be shrugged off, there was no other option.
And yes, IPL is happening, and it's happening big-time, the rise of Fake IPL Player is doing the rounds, more scantily dressed cheer-leaders, and more teams vying for the semi-finals berth. It is all happening. As one of the presenters said about the points table, "The middle of table never looked so good. The middle is where the meat is". I couldn't fathom the second sentence!
So, that's the news from my side.. see you all in few!(God knows whether it is few hrs, day, weeks or months)

Champion's League

Well! Two days of sleeplessness and I see my favorite team beaten! :(
And yes, I had to barge into one of my important trainings an hour late because of that. Now how is that?
For those who are feeling out of the place, let me enlighten you bitches... I'm talking about football, they call it soccer in US.
That brings us to an important topic, if I'm a hardcore football fan! No I ain't. But I like to watch quality football and Champion's League gives me that.
Champion League 'round of 16' first leg started on 24th. First day I watched Man Utd V/s Internazionale Milano till 0300 Hrs in the morning, which finished goalless. There were other three more matches which I couldn't watch. Second day, it was my favorite, Real Madrid V/s Liverpool FC, where hard-working Liverpool came a goal ahead of Real, in a match where Real dominated the play. Other three matches I couldn't watch as those ass*&|es don't show all the matches in India.
Now, I'm waiting for the return leg, which is almost a fortnight away.

Team India's new jersey unveiled

The spam story

Disclaimer: This piece is the recollection of one of my distant memories, so it may not be exact, Though it is a real life incident, resemblance to any of you may be highly possible!

Back in the days, when hotmail, yahoo had just hit our senses, I was a naive internet dilettante. I used to create email accounts like a maniac. I had at least three accounts in hotmail, five accounts in yahoo and two accounts in rediff(if you had more than that, then you a bigger maniac, you unsocial psychopath!).
One fine day, I received a mail from some Ms. X(let's call her Ms.X as I don't remember her name and you don't need to know either). So I received this letter from this Ms. X, asking to move a huge sum of money she was about to inherit from the massacred parents. She had written that she had barely become eligible for marriage and she would inherit all the so called "huge sum of fortune" only if she got married. Her simple request was, I had to finance her flight tickets from some distant African country to my country and marry her and she would share a part of her fortune with me and go her own way.
The deal sounded so inviting. But the problem was, I was still underage to get married and I didn't have the money to buy her the tickets. Though I dearly wanted to be her knight in shining armour, I had to give up this thought for reasons mentioned above. That time, I had cursed my limited pocket money and I had cursed myself for losing a beautiful wife with truckload of money!(why beautiful? you should have read her letter, moron!)
So I gave up this idea to rescue this lady, but I was really lucky for I had another opportunity of rescuing another damsel in distress. But yet again I was left cursing my fate for the same aforementioned two reasons.
Days passed and those ladies with deep pockets slipped into oblivion, one day while talking with my friend(who of course was a bigger internet freak than me) I told him about the ladies and their stories. He laughed and said, "you a**$%&e, they all are fake, they just try to trick you to send money for the flight tickets and then... kiss your money goodbye! It is called spam!"
I became a spam wiser that day onwards and however sympathetic their mail be, they can't trick me because I don't give a rat's ass to such spams these days.
But you know what? Now a days they are trying to sell me lotteries, replica watches, viagra and some kinda of "manhood enhancing" medicines! As if I need them ;)

Finally I have a simple theme in my blog

From the past few months I was thinking about changing the blog's theme, and finally I found one, which is as simple as it can be.....
It has really been a truly looong time since I last posted that blog. Life hasn't been a cakewalk since then....
Changing the job, therefore changing the work domain has really bound me. Work, work and more work was what I was doing. So, obviously no blogs were possible. But now I've learned most of the tricks of the new trade, I wish to continue from here on.....
My television is calling me coz it's T20 international between Sri Lanka and India today.
So till the next blog it is goodbye!
